Pregrine Falcon crossing campus in crepuscular light
It is the Monday before Thanksgiving and the campus is unpacking itself of students and faculty who are heading home early. Feeling a bit left out of the transition to fun and relaxation, I had my spirit lifted to catch the dark and distinct silhouette of a Peregrine Falcon in a long slow glide from over the Capitol Dome across the Star Trees and banking slightly SSW toward the University Apartments. The cross-like form cutting through the crepuscular light of a 430 PM in November was a moment of thanksgiving for me.
