Observation Oct 1

Philip Colburn
October 1 2008
Location: Under the Star Trees
Time: 1450-1510

As I was sitting under the Star trees, I heard some chirping coming from birds that I could not see in the branches of the trees. I also heard the background noise of crickets and frogs, which surprised me because usually they do not start making their song until darkness falls. The trees looked the same as usual, as did the ground under them. Other than the crickets and frogs that were making noise unusually early, there was no change in the area from the observation that I did a few weeks ago. Maybe the noise of the crickets and frogs indicates that the ecosystem is acclimating to the construction both north of it at the state capital and east of it by Baxter.
