Weather: Sunny
Location: Crew Boathouse on the Willamette River
Time: 800-830 hours
As I wait for my turn in the Regatta today, I decided to take a look at the water around the boathouse and the kinds of vegetation that live in it. There is a lot of algae in the water, and it seems totally swampy near the boathouse. This is because the incredibly strong current of the river is blocked by a landmass that sits between the river and a small inlet that the boathouse floats in. It is really interesting how drastically the area changes when the current does not go through it.
