Oct 24

Location: Sitting in one of the white chairs on the Quad, looking across it.
Weather: Cloudy
Time: 1200-1230 hours

I decided to focus this observation mostly on human behavior as I observe it rather than the wildlife, because I have observed the wildlife on the quad many times. I thought it was kind of humorous how the majority of people who were walking around the quad would always keep to the sidewalk, and only one or two people would actually cross the quad itself, even though it was a playing field and totally acceptable to walk on. It seemed as if people would only cross the field if it was a complete cut across. There was a threshold of time saved by crossing the field that most people would abide to. That is, they would only cut across the field if they would save a certain amount of time, any less, and the time saved would not be worth the sin of crossing the field.
