Oct 25

25 October 2008
Location: The Charlie Brown Regatta
Time: 800-820 hours
Weather: Cloudy and Cold

I was at the Charlie Brown Regatta anyway, and I had a little bit of downtime, so I decided to do an observation on this new area. I am sitting on the beach looking towards the water. The water was ice cold but actually quite clear close to shore. As one looks farther out, the water becomes a very dark blue. I see many crew teams launching for the first race of the day, frightening off what appears to be a flock of ducks across the river. The ducks kick up small flurries of water as they take off, and fly far away, far down the river where no boats will bother them.
